SHAKE IT UP CAFE: Where Kids Carry Out God's Recipe Monday, August 8 - Friday, August 12, 2011 9am to 12noon
Skipping up the stairs, while carrying food items for the Center for Food Action donation barrel each day, our VBS kids cheerily arrived for "Shake It Up Cafe: Where Kids Carry Out God's Recipe" VBS during the week of August 8th - 12th. Every day, their faces were bright with excitement as they entered into a space transformed into a cafe of God's love with biblical backdrops, kitchen and restaurant decorations.
Our VBS kids shook it up at a songfest that concluded the week-long VBS on Friday and immediately following was a delicious potluck lunch. An essential mission program for our regular Sunday school children and for children who live in the wider community, our week-long VBS was a special and wonderful experience. This joyous memory will stay with them for the rest of their lives as they grow into Christian faith.
*************************************** Our VBS is for children entering grades 1-5. This VBS is for both the children of our congregation and for children from other denominations and faith traditions in our community.
Lots of entertaining music led by a professional musician, delicious snacks, engaging Bible stories, and fun activities all week long. The fantastic week ends with a spectacular songfest and a yummy potluck bbq lunch. Our VBS children always have a great time and look forward to it when Spring rolls around. Vacation Bible School is a strong tradition at this church, involving not only the children of our congregation, but children from other denominations and faith traditions in our community. Enjoy the posters and some photos from VBS in recent years.
