Our ministry to children and youth is essential to the life of our church. We have an active Sunday School program that emphasizes that God loves us and calls us to love one another through thought and action.
Sunday worship service begins with adults, children and youth all gathered. After the children's message, our children and youth immediately leave for Sunday school.
Our children and youth are taught the basic tenets of the Christian faith, appreciating and understanding our traditions, Scripture, rituals, vocabulary, seasons, music, and prayers. We are committed to nurturing in each and every child a sense that this is their church and that these are their traditions, and the place where they can always be comfortable … as a child, adolescent, teen, and adult. Our children and youth are treated with love and respect.
Teachers and children together engage in practical acts of kindness to others including making cards for shut-ins, helping to collect food for the hungry, bringing cookies to nursing homes over the Christmas holidays, and by actively participating in all of the church’s mission activities.
Sharing our faith with a vast range of people in different places and situations and our own diversity is one of God’s greatest blessings. Our children and youth learn to respect the beliefs of others both within and outside of our own denomination.
We help our children to develop a life-long appreciation for the unique place of the Bible in their lives. Encouraging them to approach Scripture with open hearts and minds and intelligence is essential.
We also have a vibrant music program which is lead by Jane Keitel, our Assistant Music Director. Jane bring great enthusiasm and love of music. She is very popular with the children and youth and is extraordinary with them. For more information about our Music program, please click here.
In addition to Sunday school and music, we also have an annual vacation bible school every second week of August which is always a highlight of the year.
