In the life and mission of this congregation, our ministry for and with children and youth is important.
Our Sunday school emphasizes that God loves each and every one of us; and God calls us to love one another. God wants us all to live a life of faith in relationship with God. Church is a place where our children and youth will always feel safe, loved and accepted.
Throughout the year, our Sunday school children are involved in a number of events and activities that nurture a sense of service and love for your neighbors, such as making cards for shut-ins, helping to collect food for the hungry, bringing cookies to nursing homes over the Christmas holidays, and by actively participating in all of the church’s mission activities.
Our children and youth are taught the tenets of the Christian faith, appreciating and understanding our diverse Christian traditions, the Bible, the place of rituals in our lives, music, and prayers. Our children and youth are encouraging them to approach the Bible with open hearts and minds and intelligence. Additionally, they also learn to respect the beliefs of others, both within and outside of our own denomination.
Music is an integral part of our Sunday school. Each Sunday, the children and youth learn Christian songs that we hope will live in their hearts and help to guide them throughout their lives. We are committed to finding and teaching songs that are fun, engaging and appropriate.
